"After 8:30 p.m.: Community Art Portrait Project" is a community launched by Suzhou Museum of Contemporary Art. MoCA aims to break down the physical boundaries of art museums, emphasize the local cultural ecology, and collaborate with various social entities to deliver high-quality cultural and artistic services to local communities and residents, leveraging art to support social governance and urban renewal.
This project commences with two communities in Suzhou Industrial Park, Jingcheng on the east shore of the lake and Xincheng on the west shore of the lake, with "community participation" as its core concept. Through processes of listening, dialogue, and collaborative creation, it explores the unique rhythms of daily life among residents during their leisure time and the collective "community portrait" they construct together.
